Memorykeeping

September 27, 2010

I found these great ideas for memory-keeping on Martha. Leave it to Martha to figure out a classy and fun way to display our sometimes cheesy vacation souvenirs. Some of these ideas are sophisticated enough to display on your mantel, while others are simple enough for kids.

Summer Collection Box

Display your family’s beachside treasures in a homemade collection box.

Travel Collages

Take items that may seem boring or incidental (a plane ticket, a hotel business card) and enlarge them to create arresting Warhol-like collages.

Bottle-Cap Magnets and Thumbtacks

This one is kid-friendly.~

Memorabilia Tins

Keep your favorite vacation ephemera, such as maps, menus, and flyers, on display by using them to decorate soup tins and spice boxes.

Vacation Memory Jars

Another one the kids will enjoy.
